Personalized Medicine and Diagnostics: an Obama Effect?

President-elect Barack Obama introduced and aggressively pushed legislation, while still a senator, to increase funding in genetics and genetics-based diagnostics.  If this area becomes a healthcare reform priority – and there is evidence it will -it could be a boon for public and pre-public genetics and diagnostics companies that a furthering the concepts and tools involved with personalized medicine.  A sample of those companies includes Clarient Inc. (Nasdaq:CLRT), GeneNews Limited (TSX: GEN) , and AutoGenomics, Inc. (Filed for IPO – Fall ’08)
